HYATTSVILLE, Md. -- Sam Lebbie has a pretty good idea of where he wants to go to college. Now he has to make sure he can get there.

"Probably West Virginia," the linebacker from Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Catholic said. "They were the only school that stuck with me through my grades. A lot of schools thought I wasn't going to qualify. Now I've got A's and B's in summer school. They stuck with me."

No one argues that the four-star linebacker has the athleticism to play football in college. The question has been does he has the grades. At least one BCS school wrote off the 6-foot-2, 235-pounder. "I was real close to committing to Rutgers," Lebbie said. "They started backing off [because of academic concerns]. They used to send me messages everyday on Facebook then they started backing off. So I basically cut them off my list. They're out."
