The Sunshine State has a number of quality quarterback prospects in the 2011 class, but Stephen Weatherford (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Catholic) comes from a family of talented football players, including his older brother Drew Weatherford, who played quarterback at Florida State. On Monday, the 6-foot-3, 205-pound right-handed quarterback picked up his sixth offer. North Texas is the latest program to offer the talented junior joining South Florida, Boston College, East Carolina, SMU and Iowa State. South Florida, East Carolina and Boston College appear to have the early edge headed into spring practice, which is likely to bring more offers. Programs such as Vanderbilt, Nebraska and Purdue, among others are also showing interest. Weatherford totaled over 2,500 yards of offense as a junior, including 27 passing touchdowns and only five interceptions.
