Texas A&M had a successful recruiting weekend adding to its secondary with a pair of pledges from safety Devonta Sparks (Arlington, Texas/Martin) and athlete Jonathon Henderson (Leander, Texas). The 5-foot-11, 195-pound Sparks picked the Aggies over offers from TCU, Kentucky, Purdue, Iowa, Minnesota, Baylor, Kansas and Arizona among others. Sparks is a rangy, hard-hitting safety prospect who will provide Texas A&M with key secondary numbers as the Aggies continue the process of rebuilding their defense with improved speed and playmaking ability. Sparks is the third Arlington Martin prospect to commit to a regional program. He follows running back Danzel Williams and outside linebacker Deryck Gildon. Williams picked Oklahoma. Gildon verballed to TCU.
