Picks: Here come the Florida Gators
I had a shaky week, going 7-10 against the line, putting me seven over .500 against the number for the season. The good: picking Texas Tech to give Mizzou problems. The bad: picking Oklahoma to handle Texas A&M. The ugly: picking Bama to cruise by LSU.
A couple of housekeeping notes here: First, all game times listed below are ET. Second, every Thursday in this blog I pick Thursday and Friday night televised games and Saturday games involving teams ranked in the Top 25. Usually, I will jump in the comments on the blog and pick other games of interest to different fans who ask. If I had to pick every FBS game, this entry would get a bit long.
The 3:30 p.m. slotted games that are listed as "ABC Regional" can usually be found on ESPN2 in other areas. Check your local listings. If there's no TV network listed for a game below, also check local listings.
Here we go:
Thursday and Friday games
Pittsburgh Panthers at Connecticut Huskies
Thursday, 7:30 p.m. (ESPN)
Pitt QB Tino Sunseri has played quite well over the past month or so, and the Pitt D has been solid since getting blown out by Miami in late September. I think they'll handle a UConn team that is too one-dimensional. Pitt 23-14.
Boise State Broncos at Idaho Vandals
Friday, 9 p.m. (ESPN2)
The Vandals gave up a ton of yards last week to Nevada and now they'll face the very efficient Broncos attack that knows style points count. Idaho's passing attack is capable, but its O-line is very vulnerable (117th in sacks allowed) to a vastly underrated BSU front. Boise State 66-17.
For all the picks and more from Bruce, you need to be an ESPN Insider.
