In about 48 hours, either the Texas Longhorns or the Alabama Crimson Tide are going to fulfill a lifelong dream and become national champs. For many, that day will become the greatest day of their lives. Since today was media day, I asked some of them what they consider the greatest day of their lives up to this point:

Sergio Kindle, Texas DE: Seeing my son born was my greatest day. It was in July 2006. I was so excited but also so nervous. I knew a lot of things were about to change. You wanna be such a good father. It also made me cut back on things because I was a little crazy as a youngster. It was truly a blessing.

We gave you Kindle for free. To see the answer to this question from a series of Alabama and Texas players in advance of the championship, you must be an ESPN Insider.
