The top storylines for college football games from Sept. 24-26:

1. Is Ole Miss overrated?

It's been almost a half century since Ole Miss has reached this perch in college football. Because of that -- and because its wins so far have been against Memphis and Southeastern Louisiana -- many are skeptical of Mississippi's No. 4 ranking in The Associated Press Top 25 poll. But we'll learn a lot more about the Rebels on Thursday night when they visit South Carolina to play an improving Gamecocks program that beat Ole Miss in 2008. In that game, Ole Miss had a couple of key fumbles, and the Rebels' D couldn't handle Carolina QB Chris Smelley, who keyed a 31-24 win.

To see whether Bruce Feldman thinks Ole Miss is overrated, a new way to look at Pete Carroll after USC's loss to Washington, whether Iowa has a shot at the Rose Bowl in January and which state, city and high school have produced the most current NFL players -- yes, for all that -- you must be an ESPN Insider.
