Few things seem to be a better fit for the Web than lists. A few weeks ago, a fascinating top 100 list was released: the 100 Most Influential Student-Athletes. UCLA pulled off quite the double, with Jackie Robinson and Arthur Ashe topping the list, which was chosen by a special panel of college presidents, athletic directors, faculty representatives, student-athletes and conference representatives. I've been meaning to talk about the list, and since I'm on a plane leaving Texas, now seems like as good a time as any.
Three names that stunned me (because I didn't know they competed in college in athletics):
