Delvon Simmons still waiting on release

Four-star defensive lineman Delvon Simmons (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) was granted his release from North Carolina last week. Or was he?
North Carolina issued a press release stating that Simmons had been granted his release, but McKeesport coach Jim Ward said nothing is official.
"They still haven't released him," Ward said. "Verbally they said they have, but nobody's called. Nobody's sent the letter they were supposed to. I've called six times and I'm still waiting for a return call."
