Pitt QB commit Gary Nova shines

Here's how some of the top recruits from the Northeast performed last weekend:

Gary Nova (Ramsey, N.J./Don Bosco)
Nova, a three-star quarterback who has committed to Pittsburgh, completed 6 of 15 passes for 171 yards and two touchdowns and ran for a TD in Don Bosco's 38-18 triumph over Bergen Catholic. Two-star athlete Paul Canevari (Warwick, N.Y./Don Bosco) added 155 yards rushing and two TDs. Quarterback Tanner McEvoy (Oradell, N.J./Bergen Catholic) passed for 273 yards and two touchdowns, but was intercepted three times. McEvoy, a three-star athlete who is uncommitted, also gained 133 yards on the ground.

Armani Reeves (Boston/Catholic Memorial)
Reeves, a junior wide receiver who's on the ESPNU 150 Watch List, collected 193 all-purpose yards and scored three touchdowns lead Catholic Memorial past Nashua (N.H.) Bishop Guertin 26-14. The loss ended BG's 20-game winning streak.
