California offered Richard Rodgers (Shrewsbury, Mass./St. John's) something no other school could -- a chance to play at home. Rodgers, a 6-foot-4, 235-pound tight end, was born in California and lived near the California campus before he moved to Massachusetts five years ago. His mother still lives in California. "It's my hometown," Rodgers said after he committed to California on Sunday. "I want to go back there and play in front of people I know and love. I wanted to be a Bear."
