When Dondi Kirby (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) suffered a torn ACL during a 7-on-7 passing event at the University of Michigan in June, there were those who thought the door might open and allow Northeast schools to enter the recruiting picture. That hasn't been the case. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound defensive back, will miss his senior season while rehabilitating his knee, but said he recently chose the five schools he will visit this fall. "I've selected the schools for my five official visits, I just don't have the dates yet," said Kirby. "The schools are USC, Florida, Maryland, Iowa and North Carolina."
