Oregon State picked up a commitment over the weekend from three-star TE Caleb Smith (Renton, Wash./Kentridge), who chose the Beavers over a host of Pac-12 programs.

Smith was a fulltime quarterback until midway through his junior season before converting to tight end. He landed his first offer from Idaho last May and soon the floodgates opened. Colorado, Montana, Purdue, UCLA, UNLV, Washington, Washington State and a few others all put offers on the table but the Beavers always seemed the team to beat.

"Oregon State is where I felt most comfortable and it always felt like home to me," Smith said. "I've liked Oregon State for a while now and I decided now was the best time to make my decision. I think I can play early at Oregon State and I'm on track to graduate early as well and enroll in time for spring ball next year and I'm excited about that."
