On Thursday, reports surfaced that quarterback Jeff Lockie (Danville, Calif./Monte Vista) had made his college choice. The confusing part was that one report had the signal-caller headed to Oregon while another had him bound for San Diego State. "I'm going to Oregon," Lockie said. "I actually committed Wednesday night. Coach [Mark] Helfrich offered me in the afternoon, and then after talking things over with my coaches and family, I decided I was ready to do this. I called up Coach Helfrich and also talked with Coach [Chip] Kelly and said I was ready to be a Duck. "I've always liked Oregon and I camped with them last month and had a really good time. I like the offense a lot and feel it's a good fit for me. I'm a dual-threat guy but feel that I'm a guy that can throw the ball and make plays with my arm as well as my legs when needed."
