Central Catholic (Ore.) defensive lineman Brennan Scarlett announced moments ago at a school assembly he'll be playing his college ball at Cal. The talented rush end had also considered Stanford, Notre Dame, USC and UCLA. "I had three main things I was looking at," Scarlett said. "First and foremost was academics. I also wanted to find a place that felt like home and where I could be comfortable at for the next four years and a school where I was close with the coaching staff. "Cal had all that and it's just a great fit for me. I think I fit in very well with their defense and will play mostly as a defensive end but will also play some outside linebacker in their 3-4 scheme as well. Cal is building a great recruiting class, especially on the defensive line and I'm very excited to be a part of that."
