The 2012 wide receiver class is loaded out West and one of the elite prospects to watch closely will be Lakewood (Calif.) athlete Darius Powe. He recently picked up offer No. 9 and should have his pick of just about any school in the country next fall. The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder is an impressive looking athlete. He runs well for a big receiver, has strong hands and is a dynamic playmaker for the Lancers. He finished his junior season with 43 catches for 822 yards and six touchdowns and added one more score on a punt return. He caught 19 balls for 389 yards and five touchdowns as a sophomore. "UCLA was my most recent offer," Powe said. "Just before the dead period, coach [Rick] Neuheisel was at our school and told my coach he wanted me to be a Bruin and was offering a scholarship. I like UCLA a lot, I camped with them last summer and went to three of their games last season.
