Prior to its game with Arizona over the weekend, UCLA offered scholarships to two of the top junior prospects in the West region -- receiver Bryce Treggs (Bellflower, Calif./St. John Bosco) and defensive back Brandon Beaver (Compton, Calif./Dominguez). Treggs is easily among the most gifted players in the region, regardless of position. In eight games, against one of the toughest schedules in the state, Treggs has 47 catches for 825 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also has 31 tackles and four picks on defense, but is being recruited strictly as a receiver at this time. On the recruiting front, the offer from the Bruins was the third for Treggs joining Arizona State and Stanford. Treggs' father Brian played receiver for Cal but the athlete is saying that won't play a factor in his decision.
