Arizona is rolling on the field and off of it after landing a commitment from one of the top receivers in the state. Palmdale (Calif.) athlete David Richards took an official visit to Tucson over the weekend and committed to the Cats Tuesday night. "Arizona really had everything I wanted in a school," Richards said. "They were my first offer last spring and they have been my top school for awhile now. I've liked them ever since I went down there for their spring game and I just felt so comfortable there. I was really blown away on my visit and my family and I both agreed this was the best place for me. "The campus was great, Tucson is a college town and the players and coaches all seem to get along very well. I have a good relationship with my position coach, David Nichol, and I think I'll have a good opportunity to play early at Arizona as well. There were just too many pluses and I knew I wouldn't find a better fit for me so I decided to pull the trigger early." At almost 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, Richards is a big, physical receiver who can run. He had a big junior season, catching 41 balls for 859 yards and 10 touchdowns, and committed to the Cats over offers from Colorado State, Oregon State, Fresno State and New Mexico State.
