UConn is one of the better defensive teams in the country. The Huskies do not force turnovers, but they pressure the ball, stay in front and block shots. This is not as powerful of a shot-blocking team as coach Jim Calhoun has had in the past, but UConn still challenges teams. Opponents must use fakes and seek out body contact against the Huskies' big men to draw fouls. UConn also limits teams to one shot and does not allow many high-percentage second shot attempts.
