COACH AND PROGRAM

Iona's loss to Saint Peter's in the MAAC Tournament championship game was a heartbreaker, and Tim Cluess was not sure the Gaels wanted or were even ready to accept an invitation to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament.

But Iona decided to give it the old college tryand it almost won the thing, falling to Santa Clara in the title game, 76-69.

"Tremendous," said Cluess, summing up the CIT experience. "A lot of guys would have been ready to call it a basketball season & but I saw some growth in our players."
