Matt Doherty is a man who doesn't mind talking about where he has been, but he would rather tell you about where he's going. When he walked onto the practice floor at Florida Atlantic for the first time in August, however, he found out that the two subjects are bound to occasionally cross paths.

Matt Doherty is a man who doesn't mind talking about where he has been, but he would rather tell you about where he's going. When he walked onto the practice floor at Florida Atlantic for the first time in August, however, he found out that the two subjects are bound to occasionally cross paths.
"Today is the first time that I got to see the whole team in person," Doherty said. "We're small, but hopefully we're quick. It's not much different from my last year at North Carolina."
His new team brought back memories of when Sean May broke his foot around Christmas during Doherty's tumultuous final season as head coach of the Tar Heels, forcing him to start a small lineup.
