Team preview: Utah State
Blue Ribbon Yearbook previews the 2005-06 college basketball season, exclusively on Insider.
(Information in this team report is as of October 1.)
Playing in the Big West Conference was a gift as well as a curse for the Utah State Aggies. For years, they dominated the league, compiling an 84-20 conference mark over the last six seasons.
But as much fun as it was to win nearly 79 percent of their games since 1999, not always receiving their fare share of respect nationally left the Aggies cold in Logan. But the big thaw may be on the way.
This season, Utah State is one of three new schools to join the ever-changing WAC. No matter how many teams come and go, the league has a much better national standing than the Big West. That's the good news for Utah State.
The bad news may be the Aggies won't be as dominant as they were before.
