San Jose State has struggled for so long it's hard to imagine a new coaching staff will have that much of an impact, especially in the short run.

San Jose State has struggled for so long it's hard to imagine a new coaching staff will have that much of an impact, especially in the short run.
But if there were ever a right man for the job, the kind of coach who believes his philosophies will overcome any adversity, it's former University of California assistant George Nessman.
He knows better than anyone the Spartans have won only 19 games the last three years. All he has to do is look at the rosters of those three teams to realize the kind of transition this program has gone through every season.
