Splitting hairs is supposed to be the equivalent of wasting time on negligible details. Alas, it's the only method available to interpret Jimmy Tubbs' first season as head coach at SMU.

In so many other ways than the 14-14 bottom line, the Mustangs in '04-'05 embraced neutrality like a Swiss Army camp.
