Last summer, Tennessee-Martin coach Bret Campbell appeared to have a team that could contend for the OVC title.
His plans began to unravel before the season started.
A couple of weeks before school started, power forward J.C. Howe decided not to return, and later starting guard/wing Jeremy Kelly decided to take a red-shirt season to work on his academics.
It got worse after Christmas when starting guard Earl Bullock pulled a disappearing act.
