Team preview: Maine
Blue Ribbon Illustrated previews the 2005-06 college basketball season, exclusively on Insider.
(Information in this team report is as of October 1.)
"Guarded optimism" might be the most appropriate way to describe coach Ted Woodward's outlook on his second season as at Maine.
Reed (12.8 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 1.7 apg, 2.2 spg) has been a second-team All-America East selection each of the last two seasons and Turner (13.7 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 2.8 apg, 1.0 spg) stepped in and led the Black Bears in scoring last season after transferring from UNLV.
"They are both great shooters and both can score," Woodward said. "Kevin just does a few more power things than Ernest does and Ernest does a few more ball handling things than Kevin does, but both of them are dynamic."
