Fairleigh Dickinson flirted with being the ultimate bracket busters last season.

When Tamien Trent's three-pointer went in at the buzzer to close out the first half at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis, hoops fans everywhere -- except maybe Teaneck, N.J. -- let out a groan as the Knights pulled within a point of top-seeded Illinois. A top-seeded team has never lost to a 16th-seeded team in the NCAA Tournament, but the underdog Knights certainly made the Illini work for their 67-55 victory in the first round.

"It was a fun year for us," said coach Tom Green, who hasn't had too many chances to dance in 22 seasons with the Knights. With a 58-52 victory over Wagner in the NEC Tournament final, FDU earned its fourth conference title under Green and first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 1998.
