A season of promise turned into a disaster for the Phoenix when top player Jackson Atoyebi (14.0 ppg, 3.8 rpg) was lost for the season to injury and then top shooter Matt Nowlin left the team. It was 1-2 punch below the belt that just about KO'd the season.
