Not every college basketball assistant coach is able to make the climb to a head-coaching job. Even fewer are able to make the climb to a head-coaching job at a Division I program that's on solid ground.
Jeff Neubauer is grateful for the chance he got when Eastern Kentucky hired him last spring.
"First of all, it's very difficult to become a head coach in college," Neubauer said. "To get an opportunity to take over a good program that went to the NCAA Tournament is a bonus. Richmond has been very good to me and I'm thankful for the opportunity."
