The cold irony to the NCAA tournament is that 35 games and five months of work come crashing to a halt. The NCAA tourney, along with the smaller tournaments and conference tournaments are not the be all, end all, but they are a good gauge of the growth of each team. So let us look back and reflect on each of college basketball's noteworthy teams from 2010-11 and rate their seasons with a letter grade that reflects only my opinion on each team's performance. Some teams are harder to grade, as there were few expectations and little was accomplished. Others had more riding on the season, and not everyone rose to the occasion.
In part one of his comprehensive evaluation of the top teams in D-1 hoops, Doug Gottlieb grades out every team in the Big East, Big Ten and Big 12.
