Does anyone want to be in the NCAA tournament?
No, seriously. On Wednesday, our Magic Numbers article defined the number of wins teams needed to feel comfortable about their NCAA tournament hopes, independent of other bubble teams. Of the 18 teams we mentioned, five of them (UAB, Memphis, Virginia Tech, Arizona State and Ole Miss) dropped their first conference tourney game. And only the Rebels lost to a team with an RPI under 100.
