In the final days leading up to Selection Sunday, it's easy to focus with only the "what have you done for me lately?" lens. For instance, it's tempting to tap the Notre Dame Fighting Irish as the next team in the bracket after their upset of the No. 16 Pittsburgh Panthers on Wednesday. The Virginia Tech Hokies present the counterpoint after getting pasted by the barely over-.500 Boston College Eagles.

After Wednesday night's bubble shuffle, it's helpful to remember that when these teams go under the microscope on Selection Sunday, the committee will be eyeing their entire body of work, not just their latest hits and misses. Of course, after a while, those hits and misses start to pile up -- which is why Virginia Tech will be under a ton of pressure from here on out.
