COACH AND PROGRAM

Their star is gone, but that doesn't mean the Eastern Kentucky Colonels are going downhill without him.

Senior guard Mike Rose, who averaged 20.0 points -- third in the OVC -- and 5.3 rebounds last season, has departed and signed a pro contract to play in Turkey. Rose will be missed, but the program will move ahead on the strength of several experienced returning players.
