COACH AND PROGRAM

Central Michigan's 2008-09 season all but ended before the Chippewas even reached conference play. Junior center Marko Spica, a returning starter, suffered a knee injury during preseason workouts that required surgery and a red-shirt year. Then junior power forward Chris Kellerman, off to a flying start as CMU's leading scorer and rebounder, broke his left foot after seven games and needed a red-shirt year of his own.
