COACH AND PROGRAM

Since Sydney Johnson played on a pair of Ivy League title teams at Princeton, including an outfit that cruised through league play without a blemish in '97 and a co-champ the previous year that advanced to the NCAA Tournament and upset defending national champ UCLA, he knows what goes into an outstanding team. That's why he doesn't sound so giddy when assessing the Tigers' 2008-09 campaign, which featured a seven-win improvement, a second-place league finish and a whole lot more good basketball than what we saw during his debut season.
