COACH AND PROGRAM
Before the 2008-09 season tipped off, Green Bay coach Tod Kowalczyk said he liked his team. He had good reason to, as it turned out. The Phoenix had their best season in at least a decade. The 13 Horizon League wins were the most since 1995-96 and would have been good enough to win the title had Butler not surprised everyone in an alleged major rebounding year. The 22 wins were the most overall since 1998-99. The first postseason bid since 1996 was offered by the College Basketball Invitational.To continue reading this article you must be an Insider
