Henson kicks up his Heels
UNC-bound big man John Henson chats about his future school
One-fifth of North Carolina's No. 1-ranked recruiting class, John Henson (not to be confused with Muppets creator Jim Henson) is the kind of versatile future pro who defines the baby blue program. Henson was a guard until he sprouted an extra 6 inches between his sophomore and junior years in high school. It made dating that much more awkward, but the growth spurt did make Roy Williams take notice. A 6-foot-10 forward with a guard's soft hands and a wingspan reminiscent of Dikembe Mutombo's, Henson has so many skills (shooting skills, blocking skills, nunchaku skills(?)) that he fits in at any position on the court. He averaged 17.6 ppg, 12.2 boards and 6.1 assists for Sickles HS (Tampa, Fla.).
As if that weren't enough, Henson also does a mean stanky leg.
Exclusive video of John's trip to The Mag's offices is for ESPN Insiders.
