Grabbing a defensive board in the second half of a tight game against Richmond on New Year's Eve, Chavis Holmes is fouled. As the VMI senior guard heads to the line -- where he's missed three of four in the previous minute -- his identical twin, Travis, whispers in his ear. Before anyone catches on, it's Travis -- not Chavis -- who steps up and makes both shots, and the Keydets go on to win by three.

Neither will admit to the con, but the game film shows they don't need to. "Sometimes," says Chavis with a mischievous laugh, "it's hard to distinguish who is who."
