Offensive tackle Jim Barrie (6-foot-6, 295 pounds) from Berkeley Prep School in Tampa, Fla. has verbally committed to Florida.

Haubert's take: Things keep getting better for coach Urban Meyer and his Florida Gators. While they had no game this past weekend, they did gain another big win in the recruiting battle. Following a very strong week which saw them land six commitments from high school prospects and one from a top junior college prospect, they landed yet another big one with Jim Barrie, ESPN's No. 4 rated offensive tackle.

This was a big-time land for the Gators on several fronts. First off, they now have commitments from two of ESPN's top five tackles in Barrie and Carl Johnson. These are two big, athletic tackles who are going to help make this offense better. In addition, Barrie could very well be the best pass blocker in this class. This kid is a weight room warrior who really understands how to play the position with good technique.
