The land of 10,000 lakes is a sports mecca in the heart of the Midwest. Residents of the Gopher state support professional hockey, baseball, basketball and football teams. Not to mention the love for the University of Minnesota's hockey, wrestling, basketball and football teams. Any time there's a state that loves sports that much, there will be a crop of high school seniors every year who have spent their whole lives following and playing sports.

That fact is not lost on college football recruiters, who know good talent is available in the state of Minnesota. One place recruiters have made a point to visit for top talent is Cretin Derham Hall High School in St. Paul, home to a top offensive-line prospect: Matt Carufel, an ESPN national top-10 guard. He is an athletic and versatile lineman who is a strong run- and pass-blocker. Teammate Kimuel Royston is a hot cornerback prospect. He is a tough player with a knack for making plays, and he's talented enough to play wide receiver at the college level. Another prospect from the school is defensive end Matt Slater, who is a good-sized, strong player with a nose for the ball.
