At first blush, Liz Lay may be seen as the one who got away. After all, the Oklahoma City star didn't even take official visits to Oklahoma or Oklahoma State. She didn't really have an interest.

Familiarity didn't exactly breed contempt in this case, it prompted curiosity about the rest of the country.
