King James Shooting Stars Classic, April 27-29
Akron, Ohio
Champions: Georgia Stars (u-17), Wisconsin Playground Warriors (u-16), Team CIBZ (u-15)

What happened:
17 and under
In one semifinal, the Westchester Hawks fell to the D-1 Greyhounds, 79-64. D-1 turned up the defense in the second half, leading to some quick, easy baskets in transition for the Greyhounds. There were some pretty impressive players on the floor for this game, led by Westchester's 6-8 G/F Kevin Jones (Mount Vernon, N.Y.), who is extremely versatile and skilled. 6-6 G/F Theodore Jones (Peekskill, N.Y.) can shoot with the jumper with anyone in the country, and 6-4 G Sean Kilpatrick (White Plains, N.Y.) has a knack for scoring, penetrating by defenders and displaying wonderful body control. He dropped in 19 points in defeat.

The D-1 greyhounds feature the one-two punch of 6-7 G/F Darius Miller (Maysville, Ky./Mason County) and 6-5 SG William Buford (Toledo, Ohio/Libbey). Miller possesses good perimeter skills and finishes well in transition; his play was consistent all weekend. Buford stroked four 3-pointers on his way to 23 points. Opponents knew he could stroke it, put their best defender on him and he still knocked them down.
