Houston Kingwood Classic
The Kingwood Classic, directed by Hal Pastner, has become the must-see event of the spring evaluation period for college coaches and scouts alike. Approximately 750 AAU teams ventured down into the Houston area to provide a plethora of talent, including the Lamar Odom-esque skill of 6-10 junior Greg Monroe (Harvey, LA./Helen Cox) as well as the Allen Iverson-esque talents of 6-2 junior Brandon Jennings (Mouth of Wilson, VA./Oak Hill Academy). And when the dust settled, it was the most complete team in the tournament (Indiana Elite) facing off against the multi-dimensional squad from California (Pump N Run Elite).
