Grading the non-BCS's recruiting classes
Here's how we grade the top schools in each of the non-BCS conferences on their recruiting classes for 2006. Grades are in relation to every school in Division I:
UTEP: C
The Miners signed Kyle Petersen, who is not only a great punter but a fine athlete. WR Pierce Hunter and in-state RB Donald Buckram provide the Miners' offense with some instant spark for QB Jordan Palmer. UTEP's presence not only in Texas, but also (and more importantly) in California, is the main reason why it has become more successful.
Conference USA
