I just returned from the road where I was able to watch the Florida Gators team and lineman camp. While the buzz around the country and the campus was whether Billy Donovan would return, for several hundred high school football players, the focus was strictly on football. More than 500 players turned out to receive instruction from the defending national champs. The camp as a whole was a well-run, up-tempo experience that was a reflection of the success the Gators have had on Saturdays in the fall. Visiting the camp was a great experience and I thank the Florida coaches for allowing me to do so.
While the camp had prep players of all skill levels and from all over the country, there were several who caught my eye. Gainesville native and Gator commit Earl Okine was impressive looking with a great frame. He was a tall, rangy kid who looked a little lighter in person than on film but should have no problem adding size once he enters college. He displays good quickness and a nice motor and impressed in drills.
