Signing day running blog
• On the Trail | Recruit Tracker | Schools index | NCAA Football Nation blog | Chat 7:00 p.m. Thanks for sticking with our signing day blog throughout the biggest day on the recruiting calendar. Please check back with ESPN.com later tonight for complete class breakdowns and our final class rankings. 6:45 p.m.: Earlier today, Stanford commit Josh Nunes chatted with SportsNation. Here's some of what he had to say:
Kris (Columbus, Ohio): Josh, as a top 15 quarterback, what made you pick Standford. Not that it is a bad program, but they do have work to do.
Josh Nunes: I'd say there is definitely a lot of upside to what Stanford has going right now. The coaching staff is great, we have a great class coming in right now, and it's the best place to get a high level of academics and football.
David (LA): Josh, as a Stanford alum I can say great decision to switch from Tennessee to Stanford. Why did you decide to make the switch? And were you able to convince anyone to come to Stanford with you?
Josh Nunes: there were a lot of points that went into making my decision. Stanford is such a great overall program. It was where my heart wanted to be. It wasn't anything against Tennessee, but Stanford was in my heart. 6:35 p.m.: Texas and Oklahoma steal all the headlines when it comes to Big 12 recruiting, but a few Big 12 teams have to feel pretty good with signing day coming to a close.
• Missouri kept defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson and added O-lineman Chris Freeman.
• For the second year in a row, Baylor signed a class that was heavy on in-state talent. Athlete Darius Jones could play DB or WR for the Bears. He was a steal from Oklahoma.
• Texas Tech's class is a quiet group that could challenge at the end of the day for a top 25 ranking. The national success and exposure is clearly paying off for the Red Raiders. Late commit Eric Ward should be a great fit in Tech's system.
6:20 p.m.: Earlier today, Michigan signee Craig Roh stopped by to chat about his future. Here's a snippet of what he had to say. Bryan Jordan (Michigan): What do you expect from yourself next year?
Craig Roh: First, I'm just going to have to get into the weight room. I'm going to be going against the 6-7, 300-pound tackles in the Big Ten. If I were a situational type of player on passing downs, I'd be happy about that. I just want to get on the field. 6:00 p.m.: Recent Florida State commit Greg Reid stopped by to chat with SportsNation. Here are some of the highlights of what he had to say.
John (Rainier, Wash.): Hey Greg, what was the deciding factors in your decisions to go to FSU over say a big ten or Big 12?
Greg Reid: I always wanted to play in the SEC or ACC. I['m] used to playing down-South football, and that's why I choose FSU.
Joey (Tallahassee, Fla.): Greg, we are excited to have you here at FSU. Do you think that you can fill the void where FSU has struggled over the past few years in the secondary?
Greg Reid: Yes. I really want to work hard and bring Florida State back to the top. 5:45 p.m.: Update on the situation at LSU: WR Rueben Randle has indeed signed with the Tigers. Still no word on DB Janzen Jackson. We're also waiting on any official news from USC commit Randall Carroll.
