Recruiters get a kick from Badger State

The state of Wisconsin typically doesn't produce a lot of high-end talent and the 2010 class follows suit. In previous years it was still common for the Badger State to produce at least one ESPNU 150 member or solid four-star prospect with national recruitment. However, Wisconsin lacks a true positional prospect with that upper-echelon status this year. But it does boast one of the country's most sought-after kickers in Michigan commit Will Hagerup (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay). Actually, the state boasts an unprecedented two kickers with BCS talent in this class. Kyle French (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee) also has an extremely strong leg and will be showcasing it in-state with the Badgers.
Aside from kickers, the strength of this class lies in its high-upside, blue-collar prospects we feel will develop into solid college football players. Most have fallen under the radar outside the Midwest, but have the size, physical tools and competitive edge to earn their three-star status. Power back Jeff Lewis (Brookfield, Wis./Central) and 6-foot-5 receiver Marquis Mason (Madison, Wis./East) currently hold the No. 2 and No. 3 spots in the state rankings and reflect the Wisconsin style of prospect in 2010.
