Recruiting season heating up

Several ESPN 150 prospects have created an enormous amount of interest this past week with major announcements regarding their respective recruiting journeys. Some of these uncommitted top recruits dropped bombshells by announcing surprise commitments, while others informed us of the specific dates when they will make their announcements. As these commitments come closer to fruition, the rumor mill has run rampant with all sorts of fodder and scenarios, with coaches and fans alike hoping that their programs will become the future platform for these future stars to display their talents.
After returning from his visit to Georgetown last Sunday, 6-10 PF Greg Monroe (Gretna, La.), the No. 7-rated prospect in the country, promptly and unexpectedly announced that he will take his immense talents to the Hoyas. Monroe's all-around skills should flourish under coach John Thompson III. Monroe joins 6-3 combo-guard Jason Clark (Arlington, Va.), 6-10 C Henry Sims (Baltimore, Md.) and 6-8 PF Chris Braswell (Chatham, Va.) to form possibly best recruiting class in the nation.
