PORTLAND -- It's not a dateline, it's turning into a chant. Unprompted, usually, whenever people around the NBA talk about the Western Conference. Portland. PORT-land. PORTLAND.
As in, "Portland, with the addition of [Greg] Oden, could be very much in the running for this conference," in the words of Lakers coach Phil Jackson.
