Dwight Howard's true value
Howard's dominance on both ends makes him the closest thing to LeBron in the NBA
It may not feel as monumental as LeBron James' "Decision," but what inevitably happens with Dwight Howard may rock the NBA landscape just as much.
The anticipation about Howard's situation hasn't hit pre-Decision levels yet. We can owe that, in part, to Linsanity and the fact that the Howard sweepstakes doesn't have the same "free will" appeal that James enjoyed in free agency. But whoever becomes the landing spot for Howard will instantly turn into a contender if they weren't already.
That's because Howard, like James, belongs to the most exclusive club in the NBA: The two-way superstars. The ability to dominate both ends of the floor is why one GM, when asked to rank the most valuable players in the game regardless of contract, responded: "It's LeBron and Howard and then everybody else."
