A year ago, many rookies were enjoying the NCAA tournament and spring break. Now, they are locked into battles with grown men almost every night. The lockout forced them to play many games when they should have been just getting used to the NBA. That's the downside of it. The upside is that, by March, they were fully adjusted to the very different pro game. And with the condensed schedule taking its toll on many players physically, many rookies got lots of playing time last month.
